Nigel and Jenny are the owners and head coaches at CrossFit Cheddar Rising, supported by tripod gym dog, Woody!
Our team of experienced coaches also includes Emily, Lewis, Tish and Tom.

Nigel
Loves: Olympic lifting, squats, burpees & all things CrossFit!
Specialties: Olympic lifting, sports specific training, functional training.
Qualifications: BSc Sports Science, Diploma in Nutrition and Weight Management, CrossFit level 2 trainer, Level 3 Personal Training, Level 1 & 2 Olympic Lifting Coach
About me: Having played a range of sports from a young age and been involved in various forms of fitness training over the last 20+ years I discovered CrossFit in 2013. I was instantly hooked!
I started attending a local CrossFit gym and noticed how much there was to learn. There were different forms of workouts, new movements and a great atmosphere between all of the people in the session. I really enjoy the variation and constant learning process involved with CrossFit. This completely changed my approach to training and has kept me enthused ever since.
I know it sounds cliché but I am genuinely fitter, stronger and healthier now than I have ever been in all my years of training through following the CrossFit training methodology. CrossFit Cheddar Rising will allow me share my enthusiasm for health and fitness with our members and encourage them to enjoy and thrive on their fitness journey.
Jenny
Loves: Deadlift, clean and jerk, running, double unders.
Specialties: Functional training, exercise for health referral, behaviour change, nutrition and weight management.
Qualifications: PhD in Osteoarthritis, BSc Anatomical Science, Diploma in Nutrition and Weight Management, Diploma in Vegan Nutrition, CrossFit Level 2 trainer, Level 2 Olympic Lifting Coach, Exercise Referral for Health Management, Level 3 Personal Training, Pre- and Post-Natal exercise, Nutrition for Sports and Exercise, Pre- and Post-natal Nutrition, and Behaviour Change Coaching.
About me: I found CrossFit as a runner who was looking to improve my times with some strength and conditioning training. I had achieved some pretty good times for a local runner (you can see my rankings on Power of 10) and had a sub-3 hour marathon in my sights, but I knew I needed to do improve more than just my running if I wanted to get anywhere near this goal.
CrossFit offers a whole new world of fitness! Running soon began to take a back seat as I discovered a love of deadlifting, Olympic lifting, handstands and double unders amongst many other things. I still enjoy running and am looking training for Hyrox, Cheddar Tri and a sub-20 minute 5K this year.
CrossFit has changed my health, fitness and well-being in ways I couldn’t have imagined. With CrossFit Cheddar Rising my aim is to empower everyone who comes through our doors to achieve their health, fitness and sporting goals and have a lot of fun doing this in a friendly and inclusive community.
Services
We offer daily CrossFit classes, MetCon classes (shorter lunchtime metabolic conditioning-biased sessions which do not require completion of the Foundations course), a Thursday Olympic weightlifting class, Saturday TeamWod, Sunday Conditioning class, personal training, and nutrition coaching.

We offer a range of personal training packages to help you achieve your specific goals. You can find more information under the “Personal Training” tab.
Parking
We have limited parking available on site (11 spaces between 9am and 5pm; 13 spaces outside of these times). Please make every effort to limit your car use and use sustainable means of transport such as car sharing (where Covid allows) or cycling. Cycle racks are available directly outside the front of Stanley House.
We must be careful not to exacerbate the existing parking problems on Cheddar Business Park, so please do not park around the entrance to the Business Park or block other business’s entrances.
